D D Powell Letter
References to Elijah Powell's Family
This letter from David Daughtry Powell was included on pages 188-189 in Woe and Giddiup; The Peerless Powells of Possum Trot by Rebecca Newsom Dobson (d. Apr 2000). In it he states that his father was Daniel Franklin Powell, and he lists the few siblings of Daniel's that he recalls. He mentions that Daniel's sister Martha married an Owens, but he did not know his full name. (Holley Owens had been dead for over 100 years at the time of the letter.)
